Atom Feed
This element offers you the possibility to integrate data from an Atom feed into your project and then display information from it in your app. You can choose whether you want to retrieve a feed from the Internet or whether it should be stored locally in the project.
After adding an Atom Feed to your screen, you will find this item in the Outline in the Objects folder.
Properties
To show the properties of the Atom Feed, click the Properties tab (the slider icon) in the upper right sidebar.

Name
Here you give the element a name. This name is only used within appdoo. For example, you can quickly see in the outline where each Atom Feed is located. You can also edit the name by double-clicking on the Atom Feed in the outline. We recommend that you assign unique names when working with Data Links. -
Location
Here you can choose whether you want to load a feed directly from your appdoo project (local) or a feed from the Internet (remote).-
local
Select this option if you want to load an Atom feed directly from the project.If you have selected the option “local” from the selectbox, a multiline input field is displayed below the selectbox. Here you enter the source code of the Atom feed.
- Load From File …
If you prefer to edit the source code of your Atom feed in an external text editor, this is of course no problem. Click on the button “Load From File …” and import the content of the Atom feed file.

remote
Select this option if you want to load an Atom feed from the Internet.-
URL
If you have selected the option “remote” from the selectbox, a multiline input field “URL” is displayed below the selectbox. Here you enter the URL of the Atom feed. Make sure that the URL always starts with “http://” or “https://”. -
Reload
Click on this button to retrieve the Atom feed from the Internet again.

List of Elements & Data Links
After your Atom feed has loaded, the contents of the feed will be available to you as new elements in the list of elements.
These elements are based on the standard elements, but have pre-configured Data Links to display the corresponding content from the feed. You can add and position these elements to your work space as usual.
